I suspect ‘Dumpey’ might have dressed something like this with added boots. Unlike the model, perhaps he was a stocky, short man given his name. Viv.

Chequers Walk in 1904. The map below shows in red the houses I believe are shown. Immediately in the foreground is the garden wall to housing built after the 1886 map.

behind the houses in the photo we can see the chapel mike which seems to match up with your map showing the chapel so i would agree with you

Here is one

Mike it looks a tad different to how I remember it in the 50'/60's it was more enclosed bricks everywhere on either side until you got earer to Bath Row
