Cemetery Records.Key Hill and Warstone Lane

LammasB

Brummie babby
Can anyone advise where I can find cemetery records for Key Hill and Warstone Lane cemeteries.
My Grandmother(Louisa Kimberley) died in 1924 and Grandfather (Harry Kimberley) in 1927 in Dudley Road Hospital. They were living in Benson Road ,Winson Green at the time. The closest cemeteries were the two listed above so I think there may be a good chance they were buried there.

If any one knows of other cemeteries local to Winson Green please let me know. They were Church of England.

LammasB I have checked the indexes for Warstone Lane and Key Hill and they are not there. I can only suggest Witton Cemetery, Hansworth Cemetery or even Heath Lane West Bromwich it is so difficult to find burial places. Sorry I don't have access to their indexes.

Hello Wendy.
Many thanks for your response and looking in the indexes you have.Do you know where I can obtain, or view indexes for Witton , Handsworth and Heath Lane cemeteries.

Once again thanks

I may be corrected but I am sure the only indexes that exist for these cemeteries are held by the respective cemetery offices as they are still accepting interments. I think you will need to phone or write to each of them, I understand Witton staff will often do a simple search free of charge but fees may be payable at all sites. Contact information can be found on the internet but if you have difficulty I can research them for you. Good luck in your search.

I think that Handsworth Cemetery hold records for other cemetery's. Wendy will know, she is our expert on the subjest.

The cemetery indexes are held on microfiche at central library. The only problem is some like Witton are difficult to read. I now have the indexes for Key Hill and Warstone Lane to do look ups on here for people. These have been very kindly given by the BMSGH. I also have a copy of Dick Empsoms book of the Memorial Inscriptions for Key Hill Cemetery.

Di Hansworth have the burial registers for Key Hill and Warstone Lane and of course for Handsworth.

Just to let you know I contacted Handsworth Cemetery via e-mail and they responded with grave numbers and locations ,unfortunately both my Grandmother and Grandfather were buried in common ground and no memorials were errected, but I appreciate the information, many thanks to Forum members and staff at Handsworth Cemetery.

LammasB I am so pleased you found the info. I have now been told that some are missing off the indexes I have so at least others may be able to get the same help you did. I will now add after a search they still may be there.
