Catholic schools in Digbeth area 1870-1880s

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to trace the lives of my ancestors who moved from Ireland and lived in Digbeth and Little Ann Street in the 1870s and 1880s. In the 1881 census return, the children are described at 'scholars' and I would be very interested to know which schools they could have attended and if there are any records from that time still archived somewhere.
They all seemed to be working from early teens so I presume primary was the only education most of them received.
I have found a St Anne's School for Boys and St Catherine's on Windmill Street but I am not sure which of these, if either, they would have attended.
All help and advice gratefully received!
Pauline

In 1881 it was only mandatory for children aged from 5 to 10 to go to school. So if they were older than that 'scholar' may not necessarily mean that they were attending school.
