Phyllis Cartwright, born in 1912, daughter of Francis and Rose lived in 304 Camden Street, Brookfields. The later, Queens Road, Aston. Brother Frank was Police Superintendent in the Ladywood Police Station and buried in Warstone Lane cemetary. Phyllis moved to Australia in 1947. In Birmingham worked in Birds Menswear and Tailors and also GEC.
Sisters and Brothers were Rose, Walter, Mona, Maude, Frank and Len who died in the First World War. Anyone may remember them???

Hi

Can you confirm -- is this Francis Derotche Cartwright and Rose Collins?

I have Francis Edgar Cartwright in Aston in early 1900's, and I need to rule him out of being this Francis cartwright who moved to Australia.

Thanks
Don

:) Jo. Have stumbled on a Linda Cartwright on friends reunited. It says she and some of her family moved to Sydney NSW some years ago. TTFN. Jean. :)

Albert Cartwright

Sorry, at this stage I haven't progressed through the Cartwright family to the 1910's. I do believe there were probably 3 or 4 unrelated CARTWRIGHT families in Aston in the early 1900's .. Don

However the 1913 birth indexes include only 2 likely entries for your Albert (assuming the birth date of 1/6/13 to be correct). The first is

SEP QTR

Albert E Cartwright, mothers maidenname Wiltshire, registered Wolverhampton Sep qtr 1913 index 6b/1251
I did see only one male Cartwright in Aston, a John R Cartwright, and none in Birmingham.

Going back to Jun qtr

Albert R Cartwright, mothers maidenname Walters, registered Nuneaton Jun qtr 1913 index 6d/1356
There are no likely male births registered in Aston or Birmingham.

Just for completeness I did December as well

Albert E Cartwright, mothers maidenname Hunt, registered Kings Norton Dec qtr 1913 index is 6d/273
There is also a John C Cartwright in Aston, 6d/824.

If the birth date is definately correct (nb -- I have at least two ancestors who lied about their ages to join the army in the 1910's) then you could bite the bullet and order the two certificates above and see if the birth date matches ...
