I am researching my family tree and can see from the 1891 census that my great great grandfather 'William Adams' lived with his wife, 6 children and 2 grandchildren at the Canal office Camp Hill, parish of Deritend.
His occupation was canal office clerk.

If anyone has any information about them, details on location or pictures of the office I would be very interested to see them.

Keith William Adams. :)

This office must have been near South Road which is next to the canal as the previous houshold on the Census were living in Linden Terrace, South Road, Aston

does anyone have a picture of this office?

canal offices

thanks Cromwell....... are they the buildings just above Samson Rd North around the canal?

There was a canal office on the Warwick & Birmingham next to the top lock Camp Hill, opposite Sampson Road Wharf. This building has now been demolished

Thanks Alan I've completely deleted the post. It seems pointless to keep the text without the link. When you've read this I shall delete our posts #8 and #9. Viiv.
