This building has possibilities although not enough chimneys ... it looks like a pubCan anyone identify this Atkinsons public house please, I believe it to be on the Walsall Canal possibly south of Moxley and north of the Tame Valley Junction.

[there is a lock just before the bridge on the canal. Its not the one I was thinking about, so we will have to look along the canal.]

Thank you oldMohawk, spot on and a cracking piece of detective work. with your help I found the area on Britain from above.On a list of Atkinsons Pubs it is named as the Eight Locks, Ryders Green Road, West Bromwich. It still has the name but not Atkinsons

Brilliant!. My interest for the midland area and it's canals stems from my great grandfather coming from the Harborne area in the late 19th century when he brought his family to Warrington to obtain work in a steel mill and as I was born and live in the Warrington area my knowledge of the midlands is very limited.My 'detective work' consisted of following the Tame Valley canal from Great Barr using apple maps on my iPad until I came to a lock by a bridge with a building on the left on the other side of the bridge ...
