Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P.

Love the photo especially seeing the little ones tucked in the side of the cart. Imagine the fun they were having when this was taken. Interesting that they all look very well dressed and clean! Viv.

Back in 62-63 I worked on their new office in Doris Rd I remember it well I was still an apprentice it was January it had snowed all night I rode my bike to work across the old unused brick tip that was behind the yard I could not find the track and had to carry my bike on my shoulder it caused me to be 10 minutes late the foreman on site promptly told me off and sent me home and told me to come back tomorrow at the correct time.

Although we look back to the 60s-70s and see the buildings that were built at that time we cannot escape the fact that Bryants had a massive input to the constuction of our City. Dek

One key factor in the Bryant success in Birmingham was their adoption of the Bison method of industrial system of building. And doubtless their ability to 'think big' .........................................

Bryant ad 1960s

Postie, Dad worked at Bryants in the early-mid 50's he says it wasn't much better then lol!
He did quite a bit with them was foreman on a couple of builds for the carpentry side, but was disillusioned with all the QS time and motion studies which didn't work well, some days he'd work non-stop for a mean bonus, then other days be much less busy but earn more.
Sue

it was a good firm to work for i did a bit of casual labour at week ends when they were re building the brook in aston brook st 1960s
