Greetings from New Zealand

I am tracking the family of my great grandparents forwards and need help please!

I know:

Jane Ward married James Byrne (Burn?) in 1892 Aston Brook.
They had at least 2 children viz
Eva Mary 1894
James Henry Victor 1898

James Byrne is NOT with the family in 1901 nor 1911 although Jane states she is married on both censii.

In 1901 Jane & the children are with her parents at 8 Millward Street and in 1911 the family (minus father) is at 41 St Andrews Road.

Eva Mary Byrne may have married Charles A Baker March Q 1922 Birmingham 6d/467 She was baptised as Eva Maria Jan 1895 at St Josephs.

I can find little else about James Henry Victor Byrne.

Jane Ward & son James may have been at 69 Lower Dartmouth Street 1920 -1930ish but I lose track about that time.

1. Is anyone connected, neighbour, friend?
2. Can anyone help me further with addresses, directories, deaths, electoral roll, school jubilee info etc?

Very grateful indeed for any help/advice.

Hi Marlene
Probably not much use, but I had a look at the directories up to 1933 and the little that I found that MIGHT refer to your family is below:

1908 41 St Andrews Road, James Byrne, tripe dealer
(in 1904 it is John Parsons, tripe dealer, and in 1912 William Bennett. tripe dealer)

There is a James F Byrne at 226, Hagley road from 1908 – 1921 and james Frederick Byrne is at 5, vicarage rd, Edgebaston in 1932-3

1921 Charles Alfred Baker 13 Grantham road,Sparkbrook, but its Charles Morrison Baker by 1933.

1932 Baker Charles Alfred, timber merchant, 18A,Larches street, Sparkbrook
(Not mentioned in 1933 directory)
The first entry will obviously apply, but doesn't give much info. Others - well ??
Good liuck

Regarding James Byrne.

Do you have the marriage cert? if so what was his fathers name?

Do you know where James Byrne was born?

All this would enable people to help with your searches.

Barrie.

ps James Byrne is pencilled in at the bottom of the register sheet for marriages in Dec Qtr 1892 Aston 6d 448a

Wow Mike Jee! I have just found your reply! I think the James Byrne Tripe Dealer in 1908 miight just be mine! My Jane (James' wife) & children were living at 41 St Andrews Rd in 1911. And Jane's mother died there in 1910!
Whoopee!
THANK YOU!

I have the cert. Father's name was John but going further back on this line has proved difficult as I have no idea of his birth place.

James married my gt grandfather Henry's kid sister Jane about twenty years after Henry had emigrated so I am attempting to track forward.
Thanks

Hi

From the electoral rolls
69 Lower Dartmouth Street
1920 James & Jane Byrne
1922 James, Jane & James Henry Victor Byrne
1925 All as above
1927 James & James Henry Victor Byrne
1930 James, Jane & James Henry Victor Byrne

Many Thanks SMTR! Your help is much appreciated.
I now know both James & Jane died in 1934 and JHV moved to Loughborough.
Thanks again
Marlene
