Sparkhill Boy

master brummie
I am coming to Birmingham in two weeks time to visit the grave of my father in Yardley cemetery. Whilst in the city I would like to find the graves of earlier relatives. They all lived in the Aston area and I dont know which cemetery was used for that area,
All the surnames are HOOD.

Gt Gt Grandfather Thomas William or William Thomas, or Thomas or William he seemed to use different names in various censuses. Born 1811 died 1875.
Elizabeth (wife) born 1807 died 1887, both lived in Holly Lane, Aston.
Their son Thomas Hood, born 1848 died 1870. His wife Elizabeth born 1845 died 1904. Lived in Lister St, Aston.

If anyone can locate their graves I would be most grateful. Many thanks for trying.

Sparkhill,

You could try Birmingham Central Library, they may well be buried at Witton. They have the buriel records at the library.

Thanks sheronb, it seems that's what I'll have to do. Was trying to get around that due to short time visiting but if needs must.... Thanks again, G

Hi Sparkhill

My Grandfather is buried in Witton and I emailed wittoncem@birmingham.gov.uk with a birth and death date and they very kindly got back to me with the details and a map - sadly he is in an unmarked grave.

Hope this helps.
