Hi

Can anyone tell me how I find out which cemetary a church would use, I dont know which church as yet, still looking, but just wondered how I go about finding a grave once I know which church a family belonged to?

Lisa

thanks for reply

not really sure as yet, various family members, deaths could range from 1923 to present day at the moment, just really excited and maybe getting one step ahead of myself, frustrated!!! :-)

thanks

Fortunately 1923 is quite modern. I was delighted to find the 1930 burial location for members of my family. I emailed various cemeteries, including Yardley, Brandwood End, Handsworth /Key Hill/ Warstone Lane, Quinton, Lodge Hill, Sutton Coldfield and Witton. Kings Norton is too modern. All the bereavement services clerks were kind and carried out searches. I think I received replies within 2/3 days. I would have liked to provide you with a link, but having found the information I needed I deleted the page. Sorry. Take heart, though. I found such closure when I located my family so I hope you do too.

Hello Lisa :) Best to find the Address of your relative at time of death,
The certificate will inform you & give name of next-of-kin/Reporter of death etc
1920,s upwards to present, places of burial more likely to be address dependant than Church used or locality,
Best regards JohnY

ok thank you, not living in a city i dont understand how cemetaries work, we all get buried in the village churchyard, unless we attend a different church and choose to be buried there, i am waiting for delivery of a birth certificate and marriage certificate so we are getting closer - you never know she may still be alive - unlikely as she would be well over 100, whatever the outcome will be good to kinow especially for my dad - sorry
waffling now.

Thank you

Lisa:)

Lisa:) Thats Ok,, waffling is allowable on this site,, proves your "tree" bug habit has bitten,
Best of luck in your researching, take it slowly & cross-check ,,,Everything
Its very easy to get side-tracked & slip down wrong paths,,Keep "Main lines" at proven truth, then you,re sound,
Cheers JohnY
