Bull on the loose in New Bond st Digbeth this morning

Well done to the bull. No doubt it escaped while being prepared for slaughter in the Eid al Adha celebration !! (not much to celebrate if you are the bull/goat/sheep). If this magnificent creature had escaped from a regulated abattoir, im sure the people running it would have noticed that it had gone :worried: and would have reported its lose to the police. Heads should roll, (thankfully now not the bulls). I agree with Astoness lets adopt him, and give him a good and safe life, he has earned it.
 
This brought to my mind Tommy Steele's "Little White Bull" and the following lyrics seem particularly appropriate:

Quickly found the nearest road to town!
And people said
What a funny little bull
What a fluffy little bull
He's our little bull
He marched along a proud little bull
And hit the town...

So glad that this brave little bull managed to escape and that his story has had a happy ending. :)
 
tThis reminds me of growing up in Aston when the pigs were being taken to Richardsons for slaughter. One of the pigs escaped whilst
being unloaded and running up Newtown Row towards town with the slaughtermen chasing him, unfortunately he was caught and met his fate
 
living here it happens most days , getting loose many a time i have rounded them up with the car and put them back in the field when they run down the rd.

animals are not stupid they know when the are going to the abattoir. they sense it.

i remember that too when we lived in aston
 
Don't know if I have missed it but why call him Liam? In Brownhills here there is a butchers who had their own small abertoir, and occasionally animals escaped and delighted in going down the High Street

yes you missed it....i think one report suggested that one of the first people who reported him on the loose has a little boy named liam who i think is autistic and she asked if that could be the bulls name

I remember there used to be a slaughterhouse in Coventry not sure how far back but when I was working maybe on my 20's or 30's they would hit the press when they escaped. One bullock or cow jumped over the bonnet of the patrol car trying to block its exit and bashed it in, They were always rounded up. I was very suspicious seeing horses led from a transporter into an old house in a derelict area when I was a kid. There were slaughterhouses in Birmingham I am sure .Apparently they are getting rid of lots now.
