master brummie
I wonder if any of you had a bubble car in the 60s. I had a girlfriend named Pat and she had one I wish I could remember the make, it was maroon and cream and you entered it from the front, it had a type of metal bar all round it like the bumper cars, and was a pretty tight squeeze for two people, and we were young and slim then.
It was very economical to run and we went all over the place in it. One night we had been dancing and coming home along Aston Road she slowed near the traffic
lights on Aston Cross and was hit from behind by a bigger car into the car in front, but the bumper bar saved us from injury and damage to the car. It always attracted a lot of attention. Remember the song about a bubble car - one of the punch lines was something like "how do I get out of second gear".
