Amazing survivors John. I wonder what happened to the old Traction engine that was in the park? It's nice to see that these trees in Walmer Park (as seen in post 384) survived even if nothing else did.
Bob, I'm sure the engine has been mentioned on one of the threads somewhere but I can't remember what was said, never actually saw it myself (other than in pictures), I lived in Parliament Street and went to Burlington Street school.Amazing survivors John. Looks totally different to how I remember how Walmer park was. I much prefer the old look. It's nice to see that these trees in Walmer Park (as seen in post 384) survived even if nothing else did.
Seeing these photo's has brought back happy memories. Thank you for sharing these Brummie Lad.
Hi would you remember the skeldings of bracebridge streetHi Michael & thanks for the welcome.
Yes, I was the oldest child of four but still only a nipper myself (born 1956) Went to William Cowper infants and Elkington Juniors also, so only remember a few children's names from the time living there.
I have a photo of me and a few neighbouring kids who used to play in the back yards which I'll dig out and attempt to post.
Cheers Bob.
