I can't pin-point the street, but I'd say somewhere in the Jewellery Quarter judging by the enormous first-floor windows. Am I warm?

My guess is Weaman St.worked in a factory there as a boy and recognise those tiny upstairs window panes..it was like being in a dungeon...what would health & safety have thought today?..

Hi Lyn

I don't remember the name of the factory, but when I lived in Francis St, Nechells it was just around the corner in Heneage St.

Phil

It looks like the " Corkscrew Factory " on the corner of Henry Street and Heneage Street, it was there in the mid 1950's but like Phil I cannot put a name to it.

This is a photograph I have of the same factory.

I've just looked it up the name of the corkscrew manufacturer was C.T.Willetts's. It was on the other corner of Heneage St to the Shepherd & Shepherdess public house.
