Bowling Green Terrace and Road off Coventry Road

Hi John,
Thanks for the very interesting map. It explains one thing, my Grandad always supported Aston Villa, I can hear today saying " come on Villa" whilst listening to a match on the Radio!
Will try your proposal of starting a thread "Bowling Green Terrace".
Cheers
Philip

Can't help with a photo unfortunately, chances are usually not good with houses not on the 'front' of a road, but a couple of bits of info in case you don't already know.

Albert was born in 1880 and only spent a handful of years in Bham, by 1885 at the latest the family were living in Warwick (his sister Alice's birth).

His parents were both from Shropshire and some of his elder siblings were born there.

After his marriage he may have spent some time in Coventry before moving to Accrington.

Thank you so much for the information. This tallies with what I know from hearsay within the family. The part mentioning Coventry also tallies with Granddads skills. I do know that he served an apprenticeship as a moulder at Alfred Herbert machine tool factory. He had a lot of experience with cast steel (as opposed to cast iron) used for machine beds. He then moved to Accrington to become manager of the moulding dept. making ring spin machines and other textile machinery, this because of his experience in cast iron.
Sadly he passed away in 1961.
Cheers
Philip
