This must have originally been built as the Bournbrook Hotel judging by the Holt’s Brewery ghost sign across the front of the pub. Surprprised to see such a large pub still standing and still operating as such. Viv.

worked here when it was called the Bournbrook, wondered if anyone had photos of the inside when there was a bistro inside to the left

It was still the Brournbrook Hotel in the 1960s & 70s, before the disease of name-changing infected pubs
I have to admit I was the designer who with a contractor, converted the Bournbrook to the Old Varsity Tavern, back in the '80's, good times, sadly I didn't own it or I would be living it up on the French Riviera now.
