hi folks... good to be back....well we had a lovely 4 days in borth the sun shone every day and i reckon you would go a long way to beat the scenery...here is a few snaps...hope you like them...
pic 6 is taken on the cliff walk you can take into clarach bay...i really tried to get to the top but as you can see there is no railings and the narrow path is so close to edge and and it must be a 200ft drop i got so far and just had to sit down and basically shuffle back down on me bum (dont laff)...me legs had turned to jelly:cry:
pic 7 was taken when me and my son tom spotted a church quite a way off and we had to pass some allotments to ge to it..i can only presume that this scary thing is a scarecrow...well it scared me anyhow...
no chris that one wasnt taken from the site we we on but you can get a vew like that from the higher level of our site...we we on the lower level...used to belong to haven and now its park resorts....
Lyn I am so pleased you all had a good time. The photo's are great we have been going to this part of Wales for years it's nice to see someone else's photo's. The paths are tricky mainly because of coastal erosion. In the past we have had to turn back as it got to dangerous. They do nice nature walks across the sand dunes at Ynyslas. Did you go there its on the estuary?
hi wend....yes it was a nice break and the change of scenery was good for steve too...no we didnt do the nature walk this time...all being well we hope to go again in july...
thought i would post these last two folks...its of the church in borth and of a stone laid for 3 unknown men that were washed up on borth beach during the great war...i thought this was rather sad...
Lyn, Good to see you had a good time but nice to have you back on the forum I have spent many holidays at Borth so I am enjoying your photos. There is really bad erosion around there. When I first went to Borth as a young child there was a monument on the cliff which we used to run round. every year it got closer to the sea untill they had to fence it off. About 20/25? years ago the monument was damaged - possibly lightening?- and they took the opportunity to rebuild it further from the edge but I think the 'new' one is also near the edge now.
I love the church picture - I used to be able to see that from 'my' bedroom window.

Glad you had a good time Lyn. Is Borth still as restfull as it used to be?. It was the first time we went on holiday as a married couple with the twins and we loved it. Love your photo's. Jean.
max...it was just on the edge of some allotments and must have been about 8 ft high...wicker man sprang to my mind straight away...i found it quite scary
hi jean...yes its still a peaceful area and this is one of the reasons we chose borth...nothing has changed much in the 18 or so years since we were last there..oh they do have a new RNLI building with gift shop...
polly...this is a pic of the monument i tried to reach via the cliff walk...i didnt realise till later that there is a much easier routethe other pic is of the little train that goes up the mountain..
Love the hat Rowan and those sunglasses. Thanks for all those lovely photo's Lyn it brings back memories of when I was there with mom my aunt and the twins. Will see if I can find the photo's. Jean.
