Birmingham.. The Building of a City by Joseph McKenna

The Birmingham Gun Trade by David Williams

Great Britain 1890 by Badeaker

Ive started reading the McKenna book, brilliant. The other two, Ive sampled their pages, cant wait to get stuck in.

Beneath The Bullring by Simon Buteux is a book I had earlier in 2007 good read, lots of fascinating information and pictures where needed.

Thanks for that Rod. Strangely enough, I was going to ask for a 'Birmingham book' recommendation. I have a book token to use and wanted to buy a book on Birmingham history - but one with plenty of text, rather than all photos.
So....thanks!

Two weeks ago I bought three books from The Works in New Street. They are Birmingham Shops and Shopping by Peter Drake and Andrew Maxam, softback and Edgbaston,A History and Harborne,A History, both hardbacks and they all cost me just under twenty quid. They might still have some so go and have a look. You can't beat that price.BobS.
