Bohan family, Long Acre, Nechells (1960-1962)

Hi all,

Looking to see if anyone has any information that could help in identifying/locating the Bohan family that lived on Long Acre, in Nechells, in 1961.

Here's all the details I've been told, I don't know how accurate they are:
- John Bohan (likely born ~1940s), had two sisters (maybe cousins?) Nancy and Sheila.
- They are from Ireland

I've confirmed the house and names from the 1961 Birmingham Electoral Roll, where it lists the following:
- John Bohan, Anne E. Bohan, Thomas Bohan (in this order)
- They definitely lived on Long Acre. Two houses down from my family.
- They are not on the 1960 Roll nor any year following.
- I've learned "Nancy" is a nickname for Anne, so that tracks.

I'm primarily looking for info on John Bohan.

I've used Ancestry, FindMyPast, FreeBMD, and some others to try and get a lead. But I've been going in circles and can't find anything definitive.

From what I've researched, here's my theories:
- Thomas Bohan is John and Anne's father. May have been married to Margaret Canning
- I think they're all from Mohill, Ireland. But I can't find any details on Sheila.
- If I've found the right Anne E Bohan, I've learned she married to Thomas McKeown in 1962 and had a daughter (Louise) in 1963, while still in Birmingham. And if it's the same one, she did go by "Nancy" (confirmed in the birth announcement for Louise). And at some point she and Tom moved to Carrick-on-Shannon, Ireland. And she passed in 2023.

A few questions I have:
- Would the people listed on the Electoral Roll be over 21 years old, which was the voting age at the time?
- Any advice on other sources I could look into?

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

Voting age in 1960s was 21. It became 18 in 1969.
Tracking living people is hard as there are less records available because of privacy rules

thanks, Janice.
I think everyone I'm looking for has passed at this point, but happy to be wrong.. I have a message out to the living family of Nancy to confirm if it's the correct Nancy. Just need to find more info on Thomas and John.

A couple of things for Sheila.

There marriage for a Sheila Bohan to a Thomas Peyton, reg. Bham Dec 1975.

And there is newspaper item in the Bham Mail 14 Mar 1994 'Bohan John. In loving memory of a dear dad who died March 14 1973. Loved and remembered always Loving daughter Sheila and son-in-law Tommy...' That's all I can see from the search results, so not sure if there's anymore.

There's a death reg. for a John Bohan, Bham Mar 1973. Dob 26 July 1918.

There seem to be various other items relating to him all on the 14th March various years. Wife possibly Julia.

No idea if the above is the Sheila you are interested but she was born in Bham in 1949, daughter of John Bohan (as mentioned) and Julia Brady. She had a brother and 2 sisters - Patricia, Denis & Mary. Lived on Kyotts Lake Lane in the 60s.
