Hi there,
I had family who lived on Bloomsbury Street for a short while in the late 60's/early 70's - the name was Florence Matilda Dunkley and she lived at 24 Bloomsbury Street with her daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Leslie Thompson as well as her grandchildren Michael and Keith Thompson (Keith was my grandfather).
I just wondered if anyone lived there at about the same time and remembers them??
Thomas
I understand that the library now operates out of the POD in Oliver Street (I dont know what POD stands for). But i noticed today on passing the library on the bus that the scaffolding that had been there for God knows how long , appears to be gone !!!! I attach a Google street view pic (Oct 2018) which confirms this.On reading this thread again I notice that Dek was talking about all the books from Bloomsbury Library being moved across the road to the Community Centre. Does anybody know if this ever happened , I ask because I recently heard that the Community Centre is now privately owned. So if this is so and the books were relocated what has happened to the books?

Birmingham Council information Bloomsbury Library ........ Maybe they reduced the amount of books, perhaps there are not so many people in the area who are interested in reading !!On taking a look at Nechells POD in Oliver Street, going by the size of it and the other activities that take place there I cannot see how they get a fraction of the books once held by Bloomsbury library in there.
