I am posting this on behalf of a new member to the forum: StephenB

Hello. New to this forum and have enjoyed looking through members comments and stories.

I had family living in Aston; more specifically on Pugh Road, Grosvenor Road and Clarendon Street.
If anyone has any information, stories, photos etc they’d be willing to share relating to Blackborow, I would be most grateful.

I am trying to gain an insight in to my forbears/ancestors. Sadly, many had left this earth before I entered it.

Thanks for checking my post.

Stephen - I have posted your request. However I think members might need a bit more info to be able to help you. Do you have any names or dates to help us in our search?

E roll search for Grosvenor Road (as mentioned in original message) - are these who you are looking for?
1939 at 55 Grosvenor Road - Arthur and Alice
1945 at 51 Grosvenor Road - Christopher and Winifred
1950 at 51 Grosvenor Road - Christopher and Winifred with Dennis
1955 and 1960 at same address - Christopher and Winifred with Christopher junior who is in the forces (listed as a service voter)
1965 at same address - Christopher and Winifred

These are the only years I have access to.

Christopher Blackbarrow was a Fish Dealer in 1932 and lived at 9 Grosvenor Road
Joseph Blackbarrow was an Insurance Agent in 1950 and lived at 55 Arley Road, Saltley

Quite a few others on census records under Blackbrow/Blackborow/Blackbarrow but yes, we will need more info.

Samuel Maurice Blackborow b1898 son of Christopher John Blackborow & Sophia Alice Townley, Stephen's grandfather?

He was living on Claverdon St in 1925 & 1930 ERs.

Parents both born in London.

There are at least 3 threads titled Pugh Road, this has the most replies...
