could someone look up the birth of Edward Green 1828 (Aug?) would like parents names if possible.

thanks ;)

I don't think that he was baptised at St Martin's. There are a lot of Greens baptised that year, but no Edward!

Looking at IGI, there is an Edward baptised 03 AUG 1828 Aston Juxta Birmingham. Could this be him? Father John Green, Mother Ann

thats the one i have, but have found 2 places of possible births, siblings either side of him born in Kings Norton(1799&1804).
also hoping for maiden name of Ann as 2 possibles (Edgley&Holloway)

You would need to check the parish records for Aston Juxta (I don't have them). Unless someone else has them, it will mean a visit to B'ham Library. If you aren't local, then if someone is going to the library, they may be able to do the lookup for you. If the query is still outstanding towards the end of the week, I will probably be going, so I'll do it then.
I think that it is unlikely that you will get the maiden name of the mother on the baptism record - but you may get lucky and get the actual date of birth on the record. You will also probably get the father's occupation and residence.

I have used IGI to see if there were any siblings baptised around that time at Aston Juxta and it doesn't look as if there were.

leslam,
many thanks i'm as far east you go go without being in the sea! so to far, if you ciould check it out would be very grateful, who knows what details will be there, i'll keep fingers x'd

Finally remembered to take the papers to the library!

Edward Green was born on 5th July 1828 and baptised at Aston Juxta (St Peter's & St Paul, Aston) on 3 August 1828, son of John (a brickmaker) and Ann. Abode: New Town Row

I notice that you say tha you have siblings 'born in Kings Norton'. If they are registered Kings Norton District, they could still have been born in Birmingham (although admittedly on the south side). I have several households where the children are a mixture of registration in Kings N and Birmingham, even though they never moved more than a couple of streets.

Leslam,
many thanks, i was hoping to get Ann's maiden name, no mention of it i assume?
and yes got plenty family born in Kings Norton and around Birmingham, filtering them slowly

thnx again

No, the baptism records don't give the mother's maiden name. The only way to get Ann's maiden name is to order the birth cert. I'd suggest getting it from Birmingham Reg Office as they are quicker than GRO.

but Edwards d.o.b was 1828, i understand no certificates from reg' office

Sorry, you're right - was confusing the reply to you with another reply I have to make (where it was 1848!!).

Have you seen these marriages on IGI?

15 Jul 1822 Aston Juxta to Ann Marten

25 Oct 1827 Aston Juxta to Ann Maria Holloway

I didn't spot it this morning or I would have jotted down the details. If you think it may be it, I'll probably be going back next week.
There are also some in St Martin's and St Phillip's. I can look up the St Martin's at home if you know the dates you are looking for.
