Birmingham pubs 1891

My Dad used to say the longest stretch of pavement ( one side of the road ) between two pubs was The Angel on Stratford Road, bottom of Ladypool Road and The Saracens Head in Shirley, does anyone know different.

Shame the Temple Bar is not a pub anymore, had some good times in there when Dick Lawn from the Tavern in the town ran it.
I'll have a ponder about you question.

I worked for Daniels & Sons (Brum Markets)and next door was the pub Smithfield Arms (Ansells) and on the other side was the pub Brooke vaults (Atkinsons) and over the top was Dick Eales Ltd ...Bookies so had everything at hand ..left right and center

My parents and grandparents used to live in Pope Street and Camden Drive. The George and Dragon was their local, my mom used to go in every Friday to get grandad's wages off him before they all went behind the bar!
Alas the pub is no more than a shell now (late winter this year anyway). I went in there one lunchtime about three years ago. A proper old fashioned, grubby little boozer. Wonderful!!!!
I expect that's yet another site for luxury flats in the Jewellery Quarter. Just how many people want to live in these so-called luxury flats? The market must be about saturated now, don't you think?

The 'Calthorpe' -across from Westminster on Wellington Rd - and would have to be the 'Old Crown' Perry Barr subsequently changed to the 'New Crown and Cushion' However, I admit that I don't know how old?

We were shopping in town yesterday ( saturday) and we popped in the Shakespeare for a break ( any excuse will do ) It's quite nice and comfortable in there

Since the demise of the Angel pub Stratford rd, I would say there isnt a pub on the whole lenght from start to finish within Birmingham on that side of the road.

two pubs in sutton

How about the "TREE TUNS & THE ROYAL" IN SUTTON COLDFIELD they are on the same street within 100yards of each other.
When I worked in Rugby it had a pub on most every corner.
