Birmingham Household Supply Association:

Came across these two references to the Birmingham Household Supply Association:

A couple of descriptions from the internet:

“The Birmingham Household Supply Association was a prominent historic department store and retail enterprise. Situated on Corporation Street in Birmingham City Centre, it operated from the late 19th century until it was voluntarily liquidated in 1936.The massive shop provided a diverse array of household necessaries, groceries, and eatables.”

SHOWELL'S DICTIONARY OF BIRMINGHAM.

The Birmingham Household Supply Association in Corporation Street supplies all the necessaries required in the household, in addition to eatables and drinkables of the very best quality, including Messrs. Walter Showell and Sons' ales, which are sent out at the same prices as from the firm's own offices, either in cask or bottle.

Sounds like a combination of Rackams/Lewis/and more and must have been an important and popular store and yet I don’t think I can recall seeing much mention of it anywhere.

A couple of pics:

Ghost sign on the side of their building. This was originally posted on the forum under Ghost Signs 5 but was “lost”.
