Great find, did you see the car driving out of the Minories and the policeman dressed in white. Also caught a glimpse of a man wearing a sandwich board. Trying to place where Kean & Scott's were, I know later there was a K & S opposite Lewis' near Priory Circus.

I haven't seen that one before it's great ! I always have a look in case I can spot someone....lol

The car turning out of the Minories is onto Bull St (past the policeman in white). The shot of Kean & Scott has a Y.W.C.A next door. Was that in Bull St? Or was it in Corporation St? I notice there's a man waiting to cross the street with several rolls of paper tucked under his arm. I assume he's a bill poster, like the ones that post newspaper posters advertising the latest headlines to sell the next edition of newspapers. I remember there used to be a few newspaper vendors along Bull St, outside Greys. There's also a shot of a building " ..... News" but can't see the first name. Viv.

Great, and after you've watched it click on all the other films at the bottom, nearly all Brum and some I'd not seen before.

Hi Brumgum
Great find. I Was born in 1935 buit didn't realise how ancient I was till I saw the footage you posted. As anyone got any ideas why the flags and bunting was being flown.

What happened in 1935 for the shops to display so many flags. I would have been 5 and living in Sheldon, just moved from Aston, surprised by the modern looking buses, I remember in Sheldon we had trolley buses. Eric

Absolutely fantastic, and it could really be the 50's looks so modern and yet 4 yrs before the war, I believe the man with the rolls of paper is actually working for either the Birmingham Mail or Argus as he is carrying "Flungs" copies for the printing press's of that days print. I remember the trams so well from my childhood, and the streets being crowded just as they are in the film, thanks for sharing.
