I take it this is the right forum. I have no connection to the name, but was intrigued to come across it while looking at the Pershore road in 1908, where a Mrs Harriett Bimbo, dressmaker (appropriate occupation) resided. On looking the name up in ancestry i found that there was only one Bimbo in the whole country in 1901 ( Not Harriett, though she might have married the Thomas of 1901), though there were 7 in 1881. I assume there are probably none now, as, even if any had survived, they would have changed it with its modern connotation. Has anyone any idea from where the name originated. It seems to have tended to be in the northern half of england, but i assume it came origianally from abroad
