Biddulph Thomas

I wonder if anyone can help on Thomas Biddulph. I have searched time and time again, but I cant find him on census. He was born 1810 and I presume Birmingham as his other siblings were (Michael, John, Henry, Charlotte, Mary Ann and Michael Thomas). I found him through Dix's directory as a hairdresser 72 Suffolk Street 1865. I am certain this is him as his brother was also a hairdresser in Granville Street. I cant find a marriage or death details. His parents were John Biddulph and Elizabeth (nee Atkins). Hope someone can help. Thanks Carol

Did you mean the 1858 Dix’s directory. I ask as there may well of been a 1868 Dix’s, but I have not come across it.
Have found for him at 92 Suffolk St in directories dated 1839-1862. He is not listed in the 1833 directory or the 1867n or 1868 directories. A different person in a different trade is at 72 in 1861 census but he is listed (alone) at 72 Suffolk st in the 1851 census.as 41, a cutter of hair.

Mike, probably my mistake in the year for Dix. But he is also in 1839 Wrightson Triennal Directory 1839, Whites Directory 1849 Morris Commercial directory 1866, Slaters Royal National Commercial Directory of 1862. It seems funny that he is only found as you have found on the 1851 census. Perhaps he never got married, but he must have died!! Thanks Carol [TABLE="width: 100%"]

Have you considered this one, though I realise the age is slightly out?

There is also a Thomas Biddulph who died in 1858, buried at Warstone Lane.

Ladylinda, thanks I will check both those out. Unless you get a death cert I suppose you cant really find out though. Carol

Hi Carolina

The 1841 census (Thos Biddulph) has him at Suffolk Street, hair dresser, born 1816 Warwickshire aged 25.

smtr, many thanks for that. I cant find out still if he was married, looks as though he probably wasnt. On Heir Hunters recently there was Biddulph, hoping that it was one of mine and perhaps had left a fortune, but sadly not, they were all based around Ledbury.
