BHF Xmas Bash (on the day)

Dear Lyn,
first chance I have had to thank you for the lovely Christmas Bash. The hotel started breakfasts at 6 so we had breakfast at 6am, decided I needed to set off early because of the bad weather temp minus 11, the plant baskests I had bought for Christmas presents were frozem to death!!! I dropped our Carole off in Kingstanding and proceeded up the M6, what a journey just so glad to have arrived home safe, but also glad I didn't miss the Christmas Bash. Well done you and to all who make the Birmingham History Forum a success. Also thank you for making me and my Sister Carole welcome. all the best for the New Year love Sherrill xx

Sherrill was good to meet you and your sister Carole :) glad you had a safe trip, also a pleasure to meet all the others who made it that day :)

Sherrill it was lovely to meet Carol and yourself at the Bash. I don't think we could have got a worse day. It was such a shame as Lyn had worked so hard to arrange it all. Still never mind a few made it including yourselves which was great and a nice get together. Thanks for making such a great effort to be there. x

hi sherrill:) so pleased that you got back home safely...i just could not believe our bad luck with the weatther but it was great to meet you and carole and maybe if you can get to another meet up we will make sure the sun is shining...happy new year to you too and yours..take care..

Bernie, I hadn't thought about that - maybe I will be a bit less cross about Xmas now, always thought it was a lazy shortening of Christmas - but either is better than the "Winter Festival"
Sue

I thought that Sue, glad to know I am not the only one. Birmingham had 'Winterval' for about a year, but does no-one ever forget? They realised their error and it's been Christmas ever since.
