Belgrave Road, Balsall Heath

I'm keen to find any photos of Belgrave Road from the early 1900s (before the Belgrave Middleway was built). In particular, I'm interested in the houses on the same side of the road as 115 Belgrave Road (ie between Princess Road and Alexandra Road).Can anybody help? Mal

I can't supply any photos I'm afraid but I'd like to know if you know any of your neighbours around 115, Belgrave Road. Len da Costa, his wife Harriet who was a dress maker and of course Pat roach the wrestler.

Please could anybody help in pinpointing the location of 16 Belgrave Road ( Belgrave Middleway) and when roughly the houses were demolished, I believe some of the road suffered bomb damage in WW2.

First map is from 1950. Houses numbered but some have already disappeared (inc. no. 16). Second map is from 1916 on which the pink arrows mark no. 12 and no. 38, and the green arrow marks what I think is no. 16...

It looks as if people died close by in the raids of 19 and 20 Nov 1940. Numbers referred to include 22, 23 and 24

Yes - I just picked the numbers closest to 16.

Humpage newsagents at 297 Belgrave Road before it was obliterated by the Middleway

When traveling on the Inner Circle the buses seemed to pick up speed when traveling down Belgrave Road. To a youngster that was quite exhilarating. From memory I believe the was a compulsory bus stop either hallway down the hill or more likely at the bottom of the hill.
