Bartons

Im interested in finding out about the Barton family of Birmingham , they own a mineral bottled water factory at one point i have Mary Anne Barton who married into the Eccles family.

Barton Mineral Waters Ltd were at 79 Lawley St 1904-1940. I would guess their factory was destroyed by bombing, as nothing is listed for that address in 1943, and they are not listed elsewhere. In 1903 it is still at Lawlet St, but under the name of Herbert Barton, mineral water manufacturer. They seem to have moved here and modified the products they sold at the same time as from between 1892 and 1895 till 1903 the firm is Herbert Barton, fermented stone ginger beer and mineral water manufacturer at 94 Wrentham St.

My late mother-in-law was a Barton from that family and married George Taylor.
My wife, Audrey, has a stone ginger beer bottle, with the Barton logo on it, to prove it!
What is your particular interest in the Bartons? ..my wife is fascinated to know.
She can certainly help with info about how the Barton's family's off-springs have spread !.....There are plenty in our extended family with some Barton blood in their make-up.

Audrey's grandmother (we have a picture) was, she believes, Florence Eliza Barton (or similar)...Dennis Shaw
