Bartlett/Chinn

master brummie
As I was searching for family ties I came across this on Ancestry.

My gg grandfather William Bartlett's youngest daughter Florence married Richard Chinn in 1891 in Aston.  I found them on the 1901 census living at 21 White Street Balsall Heath, they had 2 sons Richard born abt 1892 and William born abt 1894. Would this be any connection to Carl Chinn could anyone enlighten me only Mom has mentioned that they lived in the same area and were neighbours of the Chinn family in the 40's. ???

In 1891(census) she was living with her mother My gg grandmother Sarah Ann at 2 Six House Row which I think was in Queen Street Balsall Heath.  She was working as a Steel Pen Rounder or maybe pen is pin? :-\

I will contact Carl for you and see if there is any connection he as had some one do is family history for him there were quite a lot of Chinns in Aston and Birmingham
Carls clan came frow Rowington Warwickshire so if you are interested in Chinns this another place to check out best of luck

Okay and thank you. I didn't realise there are so many Chinns I have only heard of Carl and it was mentioned on one or two sites his father Buck who ran a bookies?

John I had a Brett contact me through Genes Reunted he is Carl Chinns Cousin I mailed him back but I haven't heard from him yet.  He confirmed that Florence Bartlett waas married to Richard Chinn and that he has information that he can share with me.  What a stroke of luck yeah? ;D

The gentle man I mentioned in the previous post has never returned or made further contact. I would still like to make contact or seek further information with Carl Chinn regarding our families connection. I am confused about Brett Bayleys lack of contact maybe Carl knows if there is a problem. I have checked his site Gencircles according to his notes he has Florence Bartlett as being from a family of Gypsies from Bedford who married Richard Chinn but I have different information through census's and a death certificate. I would apreciate you helping me out once more.

Carl has been in touch and yes we are related through our great grand parents, my great grandfather being his great grandmothers brother.

Great news Fergie just the sort of person you need in your family tree ^-^

Thank you and yes he gave me some interesting information that I didn't know eg that my and his gt gt grandfather aparrently left his family to go to Australia though at the moment I can't find evidence of that. If anyone knows how I can it would be much appreciated. According to what we know he went on a cable laying ship The Great Eastern designed by Brunnel. I have information from an indenture that he received money from his late fathers estate in 1874 which suggests that he may have gone then. When checking the ships history it would appear that it was lying in dock then and not used for going out to sea. Help!
