Looking for information related to the descendants of James and Isabella Barratt, who had settled in Birmingham by 1860. They had about 10 children. Charles (the eldest) married Mary Maher and their family became greengrocers. Their sons carried on the trade around Birmingham. Hope this is enough information!

My grandfathers name was Barratt. But it was George Charles and he was a painter and decorator, but he may have been one of the children!

Re: 1911 Census

Thanks Jayne! I didn't have the 1911 Census. Seems that all the girls had left home by then. I agree with the 12 born, but haven't got a death for one of the kids. And it also narrows down a search for me. Joseph had a wife and family before he married my grandmother in 1921. The fact that he was still at home in 1911 means that I have a 10 year gap only to search for his marriage, his wife's death and the birth of Frederick and Joseph.
