my last sighting of this family is on the 1911 census & I have no knowledge of them after this date, so cannot confirm for you if they are related to your Grandmother. If I find out any more regarding this family I will happily let you know.

Hi Margaret I’m unable to find anything on the Electoral rolls but did find a death for Richard Barnes aged 32 Birmingham September 1912 6d 67, if this is your Richard and Elizabeth remarried it may explain their disappearance.

Ah ! Thank you bewdley...you may well be right, especially if they do not appear on the electoral rolls...I will try to trace a marriage for Elizabeth.
