Hello, sorry no. I was very young at the time.

Harbornite,
A few photos of Barford Street before it was demolished, three of the street itself and one of a back court.
Harbornite,
Sorry but checking on the old maps it looks as if this photo of 5 court might not be in Barford St at all. If you look at this old map you will see it doesn't bear much resemblance at all. Another case of a mislabelled photo I think, and on checking its more likely to be 5 Court Bradford Street and the large building would be the Deritend Foundry. Accordingly I will remove the photo as it is in error, were you looking for a timber yard in Bishop Street as there was one at numbers 104 to 116 by the name of Alfred Patterson Ltd in the 50's.
I was born at 4/37 Barford Street in 1948. I remember the shop run by Lil - think it was a fruit and veg shop. Also remember the pub on the corner called The Vulcan.Does anyone remember a grocery shop run by a lady called Lil Hanks in the early 1960's. It was either in Barford Street or a road close by that had a public house on the corner of the road. There were back houses in the same road as the shop. Sorry this is a bit vague but I remember all this from being a child who visited Lil Hanks.
There was a coal merchant who lived close by called Nealy.
Any information would be good.
Thanks, NESS
