Where can I find baptism records for Aston, possibly around 1879, is there anything available online?

Thank you, my GF born jul 1909 in Aston was called Charles Leslie Green his Father was Frederick Green was born 1879 in Aston although I have hardly any information on this man.


Any advice would be appreciated

Her name is Ellen Green maiden name Broadhead

in the 1901 census there is a frederick green age 22 plumber journeyman

b. aston

wife "helen" age 22 b. leamington

son frederick 5mths b. aston

living potters hill aston manor.

this may be the one but its a common name. does it say on birth cert that fredericks occ was plumber?

Yes have seen this and have the same family with more kids on the 1911, the mess comes in trying to find a marriage for them.

Frederick is a plumber journeyman on the birth cert and they are living at Whitehead Street, Aston

i see your problem now that the marr between frederick green and helen julia blackwell in 1900 aston seems the right one but maiden name different to the birth cert.

i would think if his occ is plumbers journeyman then it is definitely the right census in 1901. it would be good to look at the birth cert of the child that is with them frederick b.1900.
 
Thank you for looking anyway, it has been a nightmare. The same family are on the 1911 and I ordered a cert for one of the other children but it comes back with mother as Julia Helen Green maiden name Blackwell, my gut feeling is that they have to be 2 different families. :(

in 1891 there is a nellie blackwell 12 living in leamington with her father arthur and his sister julia plus a brother and sister.

i cant see a broadhead that fits at all in the 1891 census.

do any of the members think it is possible that the mothers maiden name was wrongly recorded as broadhead when it should be blackwell??

everything else fits in age, area, etc and especially that frederick green was a plumber journeyman.
 
I would say that you both have the right family (Blackwell) and that there has been a mis-transcription somewhere along the lines.

I had a similar problem with my grandmother's adoptive family (her parents died when the children were very young). One brother was living with an uncle, but Granny and her other brother were with another family.

I got their MC, and to cut a long story short, it transpired that the lady was Granny's aunt. She had married using her mother's maiden name. Both parties were under 21 when they married, so we guess that there may have been some family disagreement re the marriage, and they covered their tracks in this way.

Funnily enough the name in this case was also Ellen, sometimes recorded as Helen!
