Would someone be kind enough to look up a baptism which took place at Saint Martins on 30th July 1838. The name is Sarah Betsey Laville, parents Richard and Sarah. It is actually Sarah's probable sister I'm looking for who is Louisa Jane Laville who according to census info was born 1842, but I can't find any record of her birth or baptism. I know her parents were Richard and Sarah. The details from sarah's baptism would be helpful.

Thank you
Julie.

30th july 1838 baptism at st. martins, bham

sarah betsey daughter of richard and sarah lavill (born 26th oct 1837) abode - barr street, fathers occ. wire drawer

also at st. martins ann daughter of richard and sarah lavill buried 1 sep 1839 aged 3 days. abode barr street.

Hi,

Thankyou for the really fast reply. It is definitely the correct parents as I know Richard was a wire drawer. I will order the birth cert for Sarah Betsey to get the mother's maiden name. I know of several other children (who like Louisa I can't find births for) but i didn't know of Ann, so thanks for that.

Thank you
Julie

on familysearch.org there is a marriage of richard lavill to sarah rea on 2nd may 1828 at sutton coldfield. could this be your family??

Hi Shera, Yes, I've got this marriage info waiting in the wings until I confirm the mother's maiden name is Rea, but I do think it's the right one. Thanks. Julie.

ive just found that someone on ancestry has the same tree and has richard lavill 1805. sarah rea 1803-1881
and children frances laville 1830, john laville 1833, louisa jane laville 1843, richard laville 1845-1910 and charles laville 1857

they have richard lavilles parents as james laville 1780 and mary turner 1785-1868

sorry if you already have this info

Thank you. It must be the right marriage between Richard and Sarah Rea you would think wouldn't you? And their eldest daughter also being called Sarah lends weight to it being the right marriage.

Hi,

I have received the birth certificate for Louisa Laville and her mother was definitely Sarah Rea, so the marriage in Sutton Coldfield is the correct one.

Thanks for the info from the ancestry tree with Richard's parents.

Julie
