Aston ww1 war memorial?

could anyone let me know if there is a ww1 memorial in Aston.If so where?Thanks.
 
The graveyard of the Parish Church in Aston has a large War Memorial to the 8th Warwicks. This is opposite the entrance to Aston Hall. Not having been inside the church I do not know if there is another to Aston men inside. I know some one who may know and will get back to you.

p.s I will have to sort my piccies out. I think the 8th Warwicks Memorial has no names just the battles in which the battalion served in.
 
I have been told that there is another one or more than one in inside, my Aunt who's Uncle Herbert Lewis was killed in 1916, told me his name is on a plaque somewhere in the church.
 
Yes, there is a plaque inside Aston Parish Church dedicated to some local men. I believe that some of those listed were members of the Boys Brigade but not entirely sure. There were many many casualties overall from the Aston area.
 
I remember reading on the Forum somewhere that there is a memorial to the ex pupils of King Edwards Grammar School in Aston at the school. KEGS is only a short walk through Aston Park from Aston Parish Church, so you could visit both on the same day - with permission of course from the school.
 
Oh wonderful!!!! thanks for the link Terry. I must now go and visit as my Dads cousin is listed T.A.M. Davies. This was Trevor Arthur Manning Davies who was a lieutenant. I did not know what school he attended. When he left Aston he went to a colledge in Bristol and gained a place at Cambridge........ so very sad and such a waste!
