Is this (red dot) on Bob's image in #63 showing some of Aston Lane ((later Aston Hall Road) ? And possibly Aston Tavern in that Row of buildings?
I think it's interesting that the Aston Hall ornate gateway opposite the church, has a drive leading a long way around the north side of Aston Hall, despite it terminating on the east side of the Hall. I suppose it was to maximise the first impression of the Hall to visitors.
