I went to Arthur Terry school in Sutton Coldfield in 1964, as the school was very new there was only ever one year above us all the time I was there. We had a band of friends as most schools do. In the year above was a lad named Duncan Gibbons, he was very talented and always had a major part in the school plays. When we left school I would often see him reading the sports news on local TV. He then disapeared but in 1993 I heard his name again on TV. Duncan had lost his life in the California forest fires trying to rescue his cat. The cat was later found alive. Duncan was a screenwriter and director. The fires raging now remind me of how Duncan lost his life.

Yes, very sad indeed. The present fires in California are more than a disaster
and have claimed eight lives so far.

Ragga not sure what your attachment is.??? I have been in touch with some old school friends from Arthur Terry who have confirmed it was "our Duncan" I think it was also documented on Friends Reunited.

I am not sure Ragga. I have not seen a photo of him after the 1970's. Was the photo taken in the United States?
