Areas of Birmingham (ish) Quiz

Robin Hood and Rupert Bear, something that could be used rather than where they may be found.

It’s gone quiet on here.

I’m not usually one for solving cryptic clues either Jim, but given that the answers are places we might know I thought I’d give it a whirl this time. The last 3 in Pedro’s post #45 are tough.

I can’t come up with anything logical for them, and as it’s all gone quiet maybe there are partial answers we can offer (if that’s OK MWS). Here goes:

6. Yew...... or ...... Wood.
15. .... spring or Spring....
16. ..... Green

That’s as far as I can get. Viv.

How clever you folk are! I never could solve cryptic clues. Find them obscure even with the answer revealed.
There are books and now apps on solving cryptic crosswords, if you want to get into this. I'd say it is a skill that attracts people who want to puzzle things out rather than cleverness. And at the moment we are collectively stuck!

I was surprised 15 wasn't solved early, perhaps dig had a slightly different meaning in the late 70s than it did in the 60s.

6. Is Woodsomething.

16. Choctaw itself means nothing it's what they are and then what they might use in a ceremony.
