Hi all I only have just found this site and its great and very big! I have been looking so forgive me if this has already been asked.

I'm looking for pictures of the Apollo Cinema that was on the tyburn road Erdington, which is now Select and Save. I was shown a photocopy which is very poor, i will scan it and post here but was hoping someone has a picture which they will post or the name of the book where i can find it.

thanks in advance

Pete

Welcome Pete.

Has Froth said you will find the place there where he directed you to.

It has a place on the Forum under Birmingham Cinemas and is very popular.

Always try to use the Search box at the top of the Home page and it will direct you straight to it, also it will save you time.

I lived in the Ridgeway Erdington for years before I moved on. Mom & Dad lived there from1947 till 1980/81 till they passed on.

Hi Pete, The APOLLO was my sunday afternoon treat when I visited my best pal Bruce Smith, a guy I was at Upper Thomas St school with befor he moved with his Mom & Dad to Marshbrook Rd (originaly from UPPER THOMAS ST ASTON).
Had some good days back then it was the time all the guys had them yellow knitted gloves, we thought we were the bees knees sitting in the best stalls flashing our gloves never took them off, only to go to bed.
How little thing mean alot when we were kids.
You will find all the guys & gals on this site so helpfull.
