At a quick glance I would say R.A.F.
Yep.At a quick glance I would say R.A.F.
Keith do you have any details about the John/Jack in your tree? Dob or if he lived in Birmingham.
Think I have searched that family before. I found that one and am trying to find any miitary records
Yes thanks everyone for replying.....as I say just got some pics and couldn't believe the name Dubhill...but I cannot find a Jack anywhere....if you remember my Charles William Bayley could have had Dunhill as a father and had John Bayley b.1903 as a brother who changed name to Dunhill before marrying in 1930....as you say a dearth of Dunhills around Brum as they mostly come from Yorkshire. I was told by the person who sent me the pics they had one with him as a boxer and we knew there was a boxer in the family. It says Uncle Jack which might mean the person who wrote it was wife's Mom.
Also can't find any 1921 census records for the Dunhills but if the chap in pic was in Army he may not have been listed.
The army would have completed the census even if based overseas but I can't find him at the moment. Also can't find any 1921 census records for the Dunhills but if the chap in pic was in Army he may not have been listed.
On one census/register they are called Dunbell. LolHarry, Gertrude and Emily are in Birmingham listed as Deabill.
Think I'm just repeating what's on the Bayley thread.
