another one gone..

hi icarus..i did see someone go in that door on the left but didnt take much notice really as i was in a rush to go and buy tickets....maybe i will take a better look next saturday...:)

can you confirm that Tilton Road schools are long gone ?????? I was told that were knocked down a couple of years ago....

alf..two of the doors are definately bricked up but the one on the left looks more like a shop entrance...should have been more observant:rolleyes:maybe someone local can let us know....

skylark if you put tilton road in the search box i think i have posted a pic of the road and school....

hi all...went to the match today and yes the royal george is still open....although i cant understand why the two original door are bricked up and a new entrance made..it looks more like the entrance to a shop now..taken all the character out of it....

Lynn I think you will see that a lot of pubs are like that now.

I suppose it saves on heating as Pubs are not that busy now.:)

Hi Lyn, the alterations to the doorway relates to the fact that the pub is in the process of being extended. It's quite a large extension so I'm guessing that it's going to offer accomodation.

the boars head on the adridge road..perry barr is all boarded up today.....:(:(:( yet another on bites the dust...

Many happy Saturdays at the Boars Head down stairs there with Aunts Uncles and Cousins:)
Jean said they were doing some work on it when she went for lunch a few weeks ago:)

Not a pub I ever used, I couldn't have found my way back home from there drunk. But like all the others it will be sadly missed.

phil if i remember correctly last year some time there was a plan to turn it into yet another restaurant and there was a petition and a big hoo har about it..anyway as i read it due to all that the people who where going to buy it backed out and so it remained a pub...whats happened since we can only guess...
