Ancient Order Of Froth Blowers

Frothblower

Lubrication In Moderation
A lot of you know that I'm interested with an old 1920's organisation called- "The Ancient Order Of Froth Blowers." https://www.frothblowers.co.uk/

Just saw on another thread, "Summerhill Terrace" mentioned.
The "Birmingham Medal Company" was based in Summerhill Terrace and the "BMC" made all the paraphernalia for the "AOFB". I was wondering whether anyone had got a street plan showing where the "BMC" was?
I do believe " Thomas Fattorini" took it over eventually.
Images are of a "AOFB" car mascot.

Frothy
Unfortunately they seem to have been at Summer Hill Terrace only for less than 4 years from c1926 . I have no directories for that period and the newspaper archive for that period does not yet cover Birmingham papers. The telephone directories just list Summer Hill Terrace, no number,, . So I'm afraid I am at a loss to determine where exactly they were .

froth ive got loads of kellys years but they are all either side of years you need...closest ive got is 1931:( the only 1920s ive got is 1921

mike you have probably already looked but would any late 1920s map of summerhill terrace be any good..sometimes the factories are named on maps

I do not have large scale late 1920s map unfortunately. One marked 1917-27 does not give anything useful.

Hi summer hill terrace is the little road that runs up behind the old sandpitts
There was a couple of business there way back in time and what you call the ghost signs
Was on the walls for years in the early 1900s. Listing the old original London window cleaning company
As being the occuppys of that big office and yard check the early Birmingham directory
It tells you when they was there and I believe they was there up until the fortys or the fifths
Comedown from the city of brum down summer hill head towards spring hill once you see the old sand Pitts
Keep left of the Pitts it go,s up a slight incline above or if you like the word going above the Pitts
Where the sons of rest was or they still are there that little road you are walking up is in fact the old summer hill terrace the old original London and midland commercial cleaning company was the first block
But after that it was all houses little house if you investergate further around there you may make a hit
But that was summer hill terrace I played on them sand Pitts for years growing up
Especially when we came out of the lyric picture house and walked to the corner and that section was known as the parade junction
And the king Edward pub on the corner they changed the name from the parade to summer hill
When they started changing Birmingham and it changed it name long before they built that old concrete library
They are knocking down now or have they finished now
The first built building built there was the DHSS social was the first building built hence the summer hill
Social security offices walk further to the corner the kingedward was on the corner
Continue to walk towards spring hill after passing the pub for about two hundred yards you will see a little block of concrete building a one man toilet ajoining the sandpitts and directly behind it you would have seen the remains
Of the old London and midlands cleaning company that is or was the summer hill terrace as then
It was a home many years ago way back then before the sons of rest and way back in the sixty
There was a couple of old fellows murdered there by the principle of the sons of rest
A certain Mr Hands was one of them it as been used by many agencies in time gone bye
Homes for ladies and children and mid wives before they moved out further up the road facing the old roller
Skating rink this one subject was discuss ten years ago on this forum. Astonian,,,,,
