Bit early I think Lyn 1896 she was there and got married from there, her first child Daughter(Aunt Ettie) was born there 1898 a Son Uncle Richard 1901? Then they went off to London to find work. She came back about 1906 when her husband died. Don't know where she lived then:(

Worth seeing though:)

The picture on the right shows the corner of Clifford St, where I lived , right opposite E.J Leek or Levics it was also called, it caught fire a couple of times, nothing to do with my mum who worked there :D.
Brothertons was the shop where I bought my comics every week. The Beezer , Topper ,Dandy & Beano.:) I really do miss the place.

Hi Wales just came across your discussion on Alma St. I was born in Alma st Feb 1960 .My memory is usually rubbish ,but i remember Alma st school very clear although i was only 5,6and 7 when i went there .I remember the entry at the side of the school leading into a square playground. my class was up a iron staicase .the school had rabbits which were kept in a hutch in the playground I remember seeing my first father christmas in assembly here.We lived at number 66 .Does anyone else remember the school or is it just my imagination .
