Alcester Street

HI. Newbie here. My great grandfather, Frank Arthur Harvey, lived at No. 2, Back 118, Alcester Street Birmingham in 1899. He was described as a Wire Worker.

Does anyone have any information regarding the address and the existence of any wire related industry nearby?

Hi and welcome to the forum. These are links to Alcester Street maps 1950 and late 1880s. I think the house numbers remaines sequrntial so you can probably work out where it was.

here is a map from 1944 to 74 you can move the map around and as you will see no 118 and the back houses are all gone..i can roughly work out where it would have been but hopefully someone can provide a map with the exact location...i will have a search for photos of the street and post if i find any..click on map link below
