Brummies
You ask me what a Brummy is, and I,ll answer as best I can
They are people who are funny, and I am their biggest fan
Some support the Aston Villa and some support the Blues
And it really is a killer if both of these teams lose
Cos we are proud of our City we cant stand it when we dont win
We are a bit like Walter Mitty do we cry or do we grin
But the Brummy is a great guy just ask any Brummy gal
And a Brummy would rather die than let down his best pal
We have a laugh we have a mooch we do our very best
But when the chips are really down we always pass the test
Theres nothing like a Brummy we are tough and hard but true
And when I talk of Brummies yes I really do mean you
If you dont love your City if you would rather get on out
Then carry on and do it you wont hear me shout
Cos we were Ten Pound Poms and we lived across the seas
But when we got back home to Brum it brought me to my knees
Theres something about Brum that lifts you when your down
And the warm Brummy accent that you hear about the town
When I mooch around the City in the Rag Market and Bull Ring
It makes me laugh it makes me cry it makes me want to sing
If your heart isnt in it and your feeling really blue
If what I have said above doesnt ring a bell for you
Perhaps your not a Brummy I cant think of anything worse
But if you are a Brummy then I give you my last verse
Down in Witton Cemetery a place thats very old
Lie my Mom and Dad together in a grave so very cold
And I wouldnt be a Brummy I would not be their little lad
If I stood there and didnt shed a tear for my old Mom and Dad.
