Adelaide Street Deritend

My 2nd great grand parents Joseph Edmonds and spouse Sarah Clarke lived in back to back house 11 Court 7 Adelaide Street, Deritend for 30 years according to censuses 1871 to 1901. They worked in the brass industry. Does anyone have pictures of Adelaide Street before it was bulldozed?

Thread 'Carpenters' Arms - Adelaide Street'

Anyone remember how wonderful this pub was in the late 1960's, when it was run by Bill & Brenda Penn?
Fantastic beer, wonderful food (for that time) and a "genteel" atmosphere.
Visited it last time in UK and so sad it has gone downhill.

I've also edited the aerial view to pinpoint the house Lyn. Not much left in that area is there.

Below is a photo of Court 9 Adelaide Street, with a map showing its position in red. In fact the court survived till the 1950s. Directly ahead was no 1 and to the left nos 7,8,9 going away from the camera

looks like 2 small children sitting on the pub steps something we often see in old photos but can you imagine it being acceptable today....living opposite a pub mom and dad never allowed us to stand outside..we always had to go into the back garden for pop and crisps or stand in the passageway..
