A walk round Town

Frothy
Isn't that on the corner of Bromsgrove St and Lower Essex St? . In that case it was the Rose & Crown

Enjoyed your photos Froth. Queens College in post 2 looks much brighter than I remember it. I expect it's been cleaned up. Looks good. Photo #5 in post 2 the corner of Essex St has the look of a bank but the upper levels are decorated with tiles. I wonder if this was actually a bank. Looks like you had a nice, bright day to go sightseeing. Viv.

great pics froth...the building on the corner of lower essex st has been mentioned a few times and ive been keeping my eyes on it for 3 years now...i posted pics a couple of months back on my walk about town and i beleive it was also used for trade union meetings..what a waste of a lovely building but there again there are so many...

Great photos mate, but they would have been so much better if you had put names and locations to them. Though I recognise most of them there are a couple I am at a loss to locate. Here are some earlier photos of a few of the locations.

1. The Victoria John Bright St
2. The Rose & Crown Lower Essex Street
3. Snobs Paradise Circus
4. ....Lost....
5. The Britsh Oak Gooch St

I was suprised to see this place. I haven't seen the name Fisher & Ludlow for many a year.

That's dead opposite W G eaton Ltd, where I worked 20+ years ago, and it was un-used then. I recall someone saying that heat-treatment was carried out there.

Thanks Frothy, it's nice to see some of those typical old sites and some new ones too, Graham.

Bank is listed as the Horsefair branch (despite being in Bristol St- just) of Barclays
