Hi Maggs.
Excellent pics of the Abbey and the gardens. Brings back happy memories. I was stationed there many years ago. Is that the Angel Hotel in one of the pics? It also looks like the town centre has changed a bit but I guess that's progress. Good to see the old place again. Thanks Maggs

Yes it is 'The Angel' chocks. I am glad that your liked the photo's and that they brought back good memories. The town has changed a little, but not so much as to spoil it. The new shops are small and in no way over power that lovely little town.

I think the Big Supermarkets were out side the Town when we last visited near the A14:)
Its still there,

Did you visit where the Cattle maket was because some new building was going on there under protest:)

Yes Alf, the cattle market is now a big car park. The shops are fine, nothing overpowering or out of keeping. I can be critical of shopping centres and Malls, but was impressed with this. We will see what happens in the future though.

Yes Tom it shows what a council can do when they care for their people and their City:)

Couldn't put a photo.on before,but I used Alf's magic resizer,and here you are.Those very nice people.

Yes Ray it works and a very nice photo

I did notice the Brewery's but I knew the lads would spot it.:)

I tried both the local breweries Alf... excellent.A good part of Bury St.Eds.seems to be one huge gourmet restaurant, very pleasing to an "hungry horace"( what my dad called me when I was a child).

The "Nutshell" is a bit tiny, nice though,it's always packed six people fill it.
Oh and the beer is good.
